AZ Rendering Reaches New Milestones in EU Sustainability and Regulatory Alignment

July has been an eventful and significant month for AZ Group, marking important milestones in the company’s commitment to sustainability, regulatory excellence and alignment with European Union standards.

This month, AZ Rendering successfully obtained ISCC EU certification under the Revised Renewable Energy Directive (RED III), confirming compliance with one of Europe’s leading sustainability certification systems for renewable fuels and circular economy value chains. The certification represents an important step in positioning the company within the European renewable energy market and reinforces its commitment to traceability, transparency and sustainable resource management.

At the same time, Albania welcomed a mission from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE), which assessed the country’s implementation of the EU acquis governing Animal By-Products (ABPs). As one of Albania’s leading rendering operators, AZ Rendering actively participated in the assessment process, demonstrating its operational practices, traceability systems and commitment to continuous improvement in line with European requirements. The mission forms part of Albania’s broader preparations for EU accession under Chapter 12 on Food Safety, Veterinary and Phytosanitary Policy.

Together, these developments reflect AZ Group’s long-term vision of supporting Albania’s integration into the European Union by investing in internationally recognised standards, strengthening the circular bioeconomy and contributing to the development of a modern, sustainable animal by-products sector.
